Melanie Lynskey and Natasha Lyonne are both successful and well-respected actresses, which means they’re familiar faces to the general public. What not everyone might know, however, is that the two go way back. In Variety‘s recent Actors and Actors conversation, Lynskey revealed that she met Lyonne while working on the 1999 movie Detroit Rock City.
Recommended VideosThose who grew up in the ’90s are likely to remember this flick, a coming-of-age comedy about four boys who set off on a road trip to see KISS, their favorite hard rock band, live in Detroit. Alongside the Yellowjackets and Poker Face stars, the movie features Edward Furlong, Sam Huntington, James DeBello, and Guiseppe Andrews in the lead roles, with appearances of all the KISS members, Paul Standley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley.
Sadly, not everyone has gotten to Detroit Rock City yet, but after Lynskey and Lyonne’s mention of it, many wish to. Because who wouldn’t want to see the two share the screen? That said, the fact that the movie was released over two decades ago can make it rather hard to find, but not impossible.
